Jurassic World Rebirth
A group of people visit an island filled with dinosaurs, what could go wrong? Jurassic World Rebirth the latest instalment in the Jurassic World series.
Jurassic World Rebirth is an exciting Action/Sci-Fi Film released on the 2nd of July 2025, filled with fast paced action scenes, interesting character arcs and stunning visual creations of dinosaurs. This will be a comprehensive film synopsis/review with a spoiler warning, so if you have not seen the film be ready.
I will refer to a team whose aim is to collect biomaterial samples of dinosaurs to make a treatment against heart disease. The team consists of Zora Bennett (Scarlett Johansson, Henry Loomis (Jonathan Bailey),Martin Krebs (Rupert Friend, Duncan Kincaid (Mahershala Ali), LeClerc(Bechir Sylvain) Bobby (Ed Skrein) and Nina (Philippine Velge. Jurassic World Rebirth follows the pattern of the other films in the series by bringing back the classic T-Rex with its iconic roar and its iconic tiny arms. The amazing marine predator which is the Mosasaurus first seen in 2015’s Jurassic World displays its power in the water by doing Olympic level stunts in the water.
Then we meet a family who are on a sailing trip. The family consists of Rueben Delgado who is the dad played by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Teresa Delgado who is the eldest daughter played by Luna Blaise, Isabella Delgado who is the youngest daughter played by Audrina Miranda and Xavier Dobbs played by David Lacono who is Teresa’s boyfriend. The family are on their boat trip and Xavier, much to Rueben’s annoyance at the start of the film, is on his family’s sailing trip and is lazy. But throughout the film he gains more respect for him since he risks his life to save his daughter and keeps watch over them so they can sleep.
The family enter the film on a sailing holiday and get shipwrecked by Mosasaurs and they spot Spinosaurs in the distance which will play a bigger role later. They get rescued by Zora and the team. Later the Spinosaurs and the Mosasaurs attack the ship killing the soldier Bobby Atwater who as he gets pulled away from the ship asks Isabella for help and gives her a pleading look, then he gets pulled off and eaten by a Spinosaurus . The team collects the Biomaterial sample from the Mosasaurus. Teresa sends out a mayday rescue over the radio but Krebs does not want to be rescued as their mission is illegal. They grapple and she falls out of the boat. Krebs sits there while she falls in the water so then the family and Xavier jump in after her.
They become separated from the main group leading to the film switching between both the family and the team. Nina is killed by a Spinosaurus when they land on the island. The team have gained the Biomaterial sample from the Mosasaurus in the ocean so next they gain the Biomaterial sample from the Titanosaurus. Loomis watches two Titanosaurus bonding in a field. (Jonathan Bailey played the music which plays in this scene in the orchestra). Zora and Henry then rappel down a cliff ( it reminds me of the scene from 2019’s Avengers Endgame where Johansson is hanging off a cliff but this time she has a rope to support her and she does not have to die to save the universe.) to retrieve the Biomaterial sample from a Quetzalcoatlus Egg since retrieving it from the adult dinosaur would be too hard. Isabella then is quiet because she watched Bobby Atwater die and finds solace in a small Aquiliops which she calls Dolores.
This sounds very familiar to the use of Grogu in the Mandalorian TV series to attract viewers and for marketing purposes because everybody loves small, cute creatures who follow the main protagonists everywhere and give comic relief. Then the family encounters a raft which they can use to travel with no visible problems but it is never that easy. The family sends Teresa to fetch the raft but there is a sleeping T-Rex, then Teresa inflates the raft in front of the T-rex and as it stops inflating the T-Rex disappears ( maybe the new Now You See Me 3 movie can take tips).
Then a tense climatic raft chase scene happens with the T-Rex nearly crushing Reuben and Isabella gets trapped under the raft on her own and the T-Rex bites the raft but its teeth do not pierce the raft( Maybe the only reason a dinosaur with a bite force of between 12,800 and 57,000 Newtons which is very strong is that the raft is made of Vibranium from the Marvel Cinematic Universe) but the family escape and use the raft to travel to the derelict complex where they reunite with the team and Teresa accuses Krebs of letting her die and he pulls a gun to warn them off and he has the briefcase containing the biomaterials chained to his wrist. Velociraptors called Mutadons, which are half Velociraptor and half Pterosaur, attack everybody, leading the family to find refuge in an old service station which resembles the kitchen scene in the original.
But this time there is, wait for it… tons of product placement as they crouch behind a wall filled with very famous crisp and chocolate brands. Another example of product placement is when in the first 5 minutes of the film a scientist drops a Snickers bar wrapper and it goes into a vent which for some reason destroys the whole system and frees the D-Rex which is the main dinosaur to be feared. Maybe we should suspend our disbelief that a person should be eating in a lab which could give bacteria to specimens and how one wrapper destroys a whole computer system. Which you would hope would be good enough to stop mutant dinosaurs from going rogue. In the last 15 minutes Martin Krebs tried to save himself and the specimens to make money from his company.
The D-Rex kills him and his arm separated from his body, still holding the briefcase drops to the ground and continues the pattern in the film series of arms being separated from bodies. ( The other instances of arms being separated are in Jurassic Park Ray Arnold’s arm , in The Lost world:Jurassic park there was a arm on a boat, in Jurassic world: Fallen Kingdom the Indoraptor has Ken Wheatley's arm in its mouth) But the boat they are trying to escape on gives off light and the D-Rex is attracted to light so Kincade lights a flare and sacrifices himself by leading the D-Rex away allowing the team to escape. They think he is dead but another flare appears from Kincade so they go back to rescue him but for some reason the D-Rex is not attracted to the light.
It was a great film to watch and I would highly recommend it if you like thrilling action sequences with dinosaurs and great expanding character arcs.
